Greetings, traveler!

I'm Shreya (she/her)! I'm a 17-year-old from Indore, MP, India. I graduated high school a couple of months ago and am planning to study computer science and engineering in college!

Apart from school, I'm a Bharatnatyam (which is an Indian classical dance form) student and an avid reader. I enjoy listening to music and embroidering or painting, and going on walks. This picture of me was taken in the city palace museum (the centuries-old palace is the museum) of Udaipur, Rajasthan, by my mother. I also rather like adding extra clauses in the middles of sentences using parentheses or em-dashes and I strongly dislike generative AI.

This is practically the first technical project I'm working on that isn't tied to schoolwork in some way. I'm learning a lot of new stuff and having fun!

Talk to me about books or films or poetry or feminism or gender theory or art, etc. Anything, really — I'm a curious person, and there are cathedrals everywhere. You may also send me pictures of your pet cats.

reading

I love to read across multiple genres! Some of my favourite books are Where The Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls, Villette by Charlotte Brontë, India in Slow Motion by Mark Tully, Lady Oracle by Margaret Atwood, and The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. My favourite authors include John Green, Charlotte Brontë, Margaret Atwood, and Sally Rooney. I used to read mostly fiction when I was younger but I'm getting into non-fiction now.

Favourite poems include Litany in Which Certain Things Are Crossed Out by Richard Siken, A Poem for Pulse by Jameson Fitzpatrick, and reasons to live and the sarah poems by Ruth Awad.

I've got no less than 90 unread books at home right now and I ran out of shelf space well over an year ago. I don't do reviews (maybe I should) but I do keep track of the books I've read on Goodreads.

A book laying open with its face down on a white pillow on a white sheet. An orange bag laying flat next to the book is covering parts of its front cover. Visible writing reads 'Ca', 'By', 'Name', and the author's name, 'André Aciman'.
